Prime Minister Modi’s assassination plot by ISIS terrorists revealed by Gujarat ATS

Gujarat ATS revealed ISIS plot to assassinate the Prime Minister

Gujarat ATS (Anti Terror Squad) has filed a chargesheet an Ankleshwar court which reveals the intention of an individual, arrested earlier, to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a sniper rifle.

The chargesheet mentions that the intention to target Prime Minister was expressed in a conversation on a messaging app by Ubaid Mirza, an aide of an alleged ISIS operative, which was extracted from his phone and pen drive. “Yeah, let’s take out Modi with a sniper rifle.” – the chargesheet mentions the statement admitted by the alleged operatives.

Mirza, a practicing lawyer and Kasim Stimberwala, a lab technician in Sardar Patel Hospital and Heart Institute in Ankleshwar since March last year, were both residents of Surat and were arrested from Ankleshwar by ATS on October 25, 2017. ATS further informed that Kasim Stimberwala had resigned three weeks before he was arrested and was planning to escape to Jamaica to join the jihadi activities under a radical preacher Shaikh Abdullah Al Faisal.

He had applied for a job in Jamaica’s Pinnacle Healthcare Limited. ATS officials have found a work permit in his name from September 22, 2017, to September 21, 2019. ATS has extracted these details from the suspected IS agents who have turned informants.

The two of them were arrested last year in October on reports of a suspected attack during the Gujarat assembly polls. Later the ATS revealed that the two were allegedly planning lone wolf attack on Jews in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. We had earlier reported about the footprints of IS in the country.
