After an election campaign that has involved divisive politics and numerous accusation of scams, the latest scandal to hit the fray is a sex video scandal involving a Congress leader. According to Times Now, an alleged sex video has emerged of Congress leader, J.T.Patil, which has put Congress in a defensive position with polls only days away with the BJP looking to take advantage.

The controversy goes back two years when the Bilagi MLA had claimed that he could be the target of a ‘fake sex video’ and had approached the Court after a Kannada channel had claimed that an opposition leader had a sex video featuring him to stop its telecast. There were rumours that a BJP leader was in possession of the video. The Karnataka High Court had then restrained 10 Kannada channels from airing any “untrue or false news” linking the Congress leader to any sex scandal.

Two time MLA J.T.Patil is not the only Karnataka Congress leader who has been mired in a sex scandal. Former Karnataka Excise Minister H Y Meti had to resign when a sex video went viral after a woman alleged that the former minister had sought sexual favours in return for her transfer or regularisation of her post. However, Meti was later exonerated of all charges by the CID concluding that the man in the CD could not be conclusively identified as Meti.
