The newest wrinkle in our country nowadays is to blame anything and everything on Modi. The trajectory of the present government makes opposition believe that the smallest and the most ridiculous things happening around are all because of Modi. This time too, history seems to be repeating itself as Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel blames the state government, as unidentified persons allegedly threw eggs and slippers at his car on Thursday during his visit to Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Seven people were arrested on this behalf.

Patel was here to participate in a meeting of Kisan Kranti Sena, which he heads, in the run-up to the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh which are due by this year-end. This was the second attack on Patel’s cavalcade in the day.
Speaking to media, he blamed CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan for the attacks. The Patidar leader tweeted, “Farmers are working hard, but they are not getting better price of their produce. The youth are not getting jobs,” he said. “Shivraj Mama’s supporters in MP’s Jabalpur welcomed us with eggs while I was on my way to Panagar and escaped. Mama Shivraj, eggs won’t be able to stop me. Fire bullets from guns. As long as there is blood in me, my struggle will continue.”

Congress leader Sanjay Yadav alleged that the protestors were also brandishing a revolver. He claimed that the police officials did not give adequate security to Hardik and even refused to register an FIR pertaining to this case.
Hardik Patel, who rose to prominence over agitation demanding reservation for Patidar community in 2015 has time and again tried to be in the news, be it by resorting to anti-Modi campaigning or for being booked by the Crime Branch on sedition charges after the large-scale violence in Gujrat in 2015 seeking reservation for Patidars.
Lately, the Congress and rest of the opposition are singling out the farmer protest, trying to use it as a weapon against the government trying to cash in on the anti-BJP sentiments to dislodge the saffron party. The farmers are asking for government support to address the crisis in a sector that employs the majority of the country’s workforce, while the opposition is busy politicising the issue to meet their ulterior motives.
