TDP MP to skip his own party’s no-confidence motion as he is ‘fed up’ with nation’s political system

TDP MP Diwakar Reddy

Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) Member of Parliament JC Diwakar Reddy has declared that he won’t attend the parliamentary session during the no-confidence motion, which has been brought in by his own party, Times of India has reported. The no-confidence motion would be taken up for a discussion on Friday, following which a voting would take place.

TDP which is instrumental in moving the no-confidence motion, has issued a whip to all its MPs asking them to attend Parliament on Friday. The Chandrababu Naidu led party has justified this move as a reaction to the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh – in form of non-deliverance of special status to the state.

Now the TDP MP Diwakar Reddy has openly declared his decision to not follow his party whip by claiming that, he is fed up with the TDP government, his party and the nation’s political system as a whole:

According to an ANI feed, the MP is currently in his native place of Anantpur and would speak to media within a week to further explain his logic.

Incidentally the Times of India report has shed more light on the matter by quoting the MP as saying that the no-confidence motion is a routine affair as the Modi government is not going to fall anyway. He also claimed that his presence won’t make any difference as he can’t speak either English or Hindi.

The report speculates that the TDP’s non committal stance over ticket allocation in Anantapuramu is the reason why the MP is sulking.
