The proposed talks between India MEA Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan foreign minister at the sidelines of the upcoming UNGA meeting in the United States is reportedly called off at the wake of today’s dastardly kidnapping and killing of three policemen in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian.

According to reports, an informal meeting of the SAARC foreign ministers was supposed to take place n New York at the sidelines of the UNGA meeting. It was confirmed yesterday that Indian MEA Sushma Swaraj will meet her Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
However, in a cowardly attack, terrorists in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir had abducted and killed three police officers earlier today. Earlier this week, Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists had put videos warning police officers to resign from their jobs or prepare to be killed.
MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar has confirmed to media that at the wake of 2 major incidents, the abduction and killing of policemen and the release of 20 postage stamps by Pakistan that glorifying terrorists in Kashmir, India has decided to go forward with the scheduled meeting between the two foreign ministers. He added that the evil agenda of Pakistan has been exposed and behind the claims of peace, the true face of the newly elected prime minister has been revealed.

It is notable here that India had suspended all diplomatic dialogues with Pakistan after the Uri attacks in 2016. On September 14, Pakistan’s new PM Imran Khan had proposed the MEA level meeting at New York which India had accepted on Thursday.
