An 18-year-old Bajrang Dal worker, Rahul Verma’s dead body was found under mysterious circumstances in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. Rahul’s family has alleged that he was poisoned to death by some of the residents of his colony who threatened to kill him in the past.

On Tuesday, 2nd October 2018, at around 7 PM in the evening Rahul Verma’s body was found on the hill adjoining the village, behind the Mahuba Jail. The deceased Rahul Verma was a resident of Kanshiram Colony & was purportedly involved in a dispute with some of the youths of the colony. Rahul’s mother has asserted that he has been killed by five youths from the area including Kallu, Javed, Naseem, and wants swift action against the perpetrators of this heinous crime.

It is alleged that Rahul had alleged that he was facing threat from the alleged persons and filed a complaint with the police. But police did not take any action. After the discovery of the body, locals came out in the street and held a protest demanding the arrest of the killers.

Of late the hate crime against Bajrang Dal workers & activists across India has increased alarmingly. A few months back, a 23-year old Anandan, was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight by CPI(M) workers while he was on his motorcycle. Another such incident saw Shanoj, a BJP activist savagely murdered by six assailants in New Mahe near Kannur in Kerala. In such a scenario, one can only pin their hopes on CM Yogi Adityanath to take cognizance of the incident & ensure speedy justice delivery to the victim’s family.
