As per a report by The New Indian Express, a Ranchi Court has ordered an FIR to be filed against the Principal and three other staff members of Carmel School for ‘forcible conversion’ after a complaint was lodged by a teacher.
Nalini Nayak, the teacher, has alleged that she was being forced to convert to Christianity and when she refused, she was fired. “The complaint was filed on Monday in the court of Judicial Magistrate Kashika M Prasad and in the first hearing on Monday, it directed Namkom Police Station to file an FIR against the accused under various sections for pressuring Nalini Nayak to convert. They were booked for criminal conspiracy with common intention and molestation,” Nayak’s advocate Avnish Ranjan Mishra said as per the report. He added, “Nayak was being mentally tortured by the accused and was even manhandled by them.”
The complainant stated, “On September 27, the principal called me to her chamber and threatened that I could be killed if I refused to convert to Christianity. On October 1, I was terminated from service.”
It has been documented on numerous instances how zealous Christian missionaries can be in their attempts to convert non-Christians. They are even encouraged to form an acquaintance with the explicit purpose of conversion. Recently, an American Missionary was killed in the North Sentinel island in his attempt to convert the Sentinelese tribe. He risked wiping out the existence of the entire tribe to ‘establish the kingdom of Jesus’.
