Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi during a press briefing today attacked the Modi government accusing it of misusing government agencies for settling political scores. Singhvi said that the Modi government is using the agencies like ED and CBI like ‘bonded labourers’.

Singhvi said that BJP is baffled by their certain defeat in the Assembly elections of the five States. He added that the party is indulging in mud-slinging because their own facade of being an anti-corruption party has begun to fall off.

Calling BJP’s rule a ‘terrorist raj’ Singhvi said that the raids were conducted for 24 hours at Robert Vadra’s associate’s house without an FIR or a warrant.

Singhvi then proceeded to issue a veiled warning to CBI and ED officials that governments keep changing. He implied that soon there might be a different government at centre and the officials should learn to toe their line.

The Congress party has been trying to defend Robert Vadra over the raids conducted by the ED at his offices in relation to the transfer of money from defence suppliers. Vadra is alleged to have links with arms dealers. The party has been attributed the actions of the ED to the Modi government by calling it their “political witch hunt”.
