Pallavi Ghosh does a Rahul Gandhi while talking about Uri box office collection and Twitter can’t stop laughing

Vicky Kaushal starrer movie Uri: The Surgical Strike has been earning both accolades and box office revenue since its release on 11th January. The movie has become the first Bollywood movie of the year to enter the ₹100 crore club. According to movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie has done a business of ₹115.87 crore as on Monday.

News18 journalist and Rahul Gandhi fan Pallavi Ghosh decided to share this news with her followers on Twitter with this tweet:

Except, instead of one hundred crore, she wrote one crore by mistake. Immediately it became a source for entertainment for people on Twitter, especially because Pallavi Ghosh is open about her bias towards the Congress party. This was a perfect opportunity for social media users to remind how people associated with Congress always get their numbers wrong.

Amazingly, when a user helpfully replied with a cryptic “give or take a few zeroes” message, the journalists didn’t understand the tweet and didn’t realise her mistake, as she replied with a thinking face emoji.

Some people helped her by saying that she has missed two Rahuls after one.

Rahul Gandhi is known for goof ups he makes during his speeches. In his allegations about the Rafale deal, he has been mentioning any number that comes to his mind during his speech. Sometimes he misses the crore like Pallavi missed the hundred, and says that UPA government had decided to buy the aircraft at ₹526.

For some, the missing two zeros reminded them of Kapil Sibal, who had famously coined the zero loss theory on the 2G scam.

How can one talk about numbers and forget Priyanka Chaturvedi of Congress, who regularly displays her knowledge of financial matters on Twitter?

Some people tried to find a link between supporting Rahul Gandhi and decreasing intellect.

Of course, not all replies to her tweets were ‘trolling’ her, and most people helpfully corrected her saying it should be ₹100 crore. But till the time of writing this article Pallavi Ghosh has not issued any correction to her tweet.

Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strike that Indian forces had launched in Pakistan after the 2016 Uri attack. It was released on 11th January this year, and apart from earning accolades from viewers, it also has attracted favourable reviews from most critics.
