The Patna High Court has rejected RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s petition challenging the Bihar government’s order to vacate the bungalow that was allotted to him when he was appointed the Deputy Chief Minister of the state during the Mahagathbandhan government. Tajashwi has been claiming that it is a case of a political vendetta by the current Bihar government.

A division bench of Chief Justice A.P. Sahi and Justice Anjana Mishra rejected his appeal challenging the order of a judge dated 6th of October, 2018. The single-judge order had rejected Tejashwi’s appeal against the government order to vacate his bungalow.

Last month, authorities had reached the bungalow to carry out the eviction order amidts opposition of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party. The Police were greeted with a poster when they reached the bungalow for eviction. The poster stated that the matter is currently being heard in the Court and therefore until a judgment is delivered, no action should be taken by the administration in this regard.

Leaders of the current BJP-JD(U) government in Bihar have asserted that Tejashwi must vacate the bungalow as he is no longer the Deputy CM. Now that the Patna HC has given its verdict on the matter, it appears that Tejashwi has no choice but to vacate the bungalow.
