While the Indian government is briskly dissolving its undertakings with Pakistan in the aftermath of the dastardly Pulwama attack, Delhi education minister and deputy CM, Manish Sisodia took to Twitter to peddle fake news about electricity being supplied to Pakistan by the Adani group, which he later deleted after being schooled by the same.

As seen above, Sisodia had claimed that while India has almost made imports from Pakistan impossible, why has the Indian government not asked Adani to stop the export of electricity to Pakistan.

The Adani group, soon clarified and strongly condemned the incorrect and the thoughtless assertions made by Sisodia and asked him to withdraw his statement with immediate effect.

Sisodia, without apologising or issuing a clarification, chose to quietly delete the tweet after being called out. However, Sisodia was not the only one to spread the fake narrative.

AAP’s Preeti Sharma Menon solicited the same rumour on Twitter.

The well-established columnist of Hindustan Times, Sujata Anandan, who had once claimed that South Indians don’t celebrate Diwali, and was slammed for the same, was there again, displaying similar ignorance.

Similarly, a Congressi…and not surprisingly, a believer of INC ideologies, Roman D’souza, answering to abusive troll Swati Chaturvedi, asked Adani and Patanjali to stop doing business with Pakistan.

Columnist and someone who refers to himself as ‘brain scientist’ too decided it is time Adani, which does not even export power to Pakistan, should stop exporting the said power.

It is rather appalling and really unfortunate, that in the given situation where India is dealing with such perplexities, the nation, which should be standing together, echoing the same tone of retribution, there are people in the media and politics who are insensitively utilising this situation to build false narratives.
