Samajwadi Party releases first list of candidates for 2019 elections, Mulayam Singh Yadav to contest from Mainpuri

A day after Congress came out with its first list of candidates for the upcoming general elections, Samajwadi Party, which has forged an alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party, keeping Congress out of the loop, released its first list of six candidates.

Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav will contest from Mainpuri which he earlier represented in 1996, 2004 and 2009. Currently, he represents Azamgarh constituency. Akhilesh Yadav’s cousin Dharmendra Yadav will contest from Badaun, a seat he has won thrice.

Akhilesh’s another cousin, uncle Ram Gopal Yadav’s son Akshay will contest from Firozabad.

Other than that, Samajwadi Party will field Kamlesh Katheria from Etawah, Bhailal Kol from Robertganj and Shabbir Valmiki from Bahriach.
