If you thought satire is a lost art, think again. Madhya Pradesh Congress’ official Twitter account today shared a satirical report from Amar Ujala which spoke of a Rs 800 crore scam in the recently concluded Prayagraj Kumbh Mela as real news.
In a tweet shared my MP Congress Twitter account, alleged a Rs 800 crore scam in the recently concluded Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The tweet further wondered how the BJP does not even leave religious and holy places out of corruption.
However, the article shared in above tweet was a satirical article from Amar Ujala. Considering Congress had cropped out the part which clarified that the article is satirical, one wonders about the malicious intention of the party to spread fake news.

Considering the fact that the thin line between satire and reality is crossed way too many times, it is not new for media houses as well as politicians to mistake parody and satire handles for real. However, the fact that Congress took efforts to crop the original image to spread the satire as real news, show the malice in their intention.
