The Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has requested AAP workers across the country ‘except’ those in Haryana and Punjab to take leave till elections and join him in Delhi for campaigning for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

In a post uploaded on Twitter, Arvind Kejriwal has asked all AAP workers to come to Delhi and help the Delhi AAP state unit for defeating the BJP on all the 7 seats in Delhi. As per many opinion polls, BJP is poised to sweep all 7 seats in Delhi.

Kejriwal’s requests have also generated some amusing reactions on Twitter. Rebel MLA Kapil Mishra taunted Kejriwal saying that there are no AAP workers left in Delhi.

It is pertinent to note that Arvind Kejriwal’s entreaty has been addressed to all the AAP workers across the country except Haryana and Punjab. Perhaps, Kejriwal has realised that AAP’s predicament in other states in the country is a foregone conclusion. It was also evident in the frantic attempts he had made to Congress to form an alliance.

It is also notable that Arvind Kejriwal was desperately seeking to form an alliance with Congress in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab to mount a collective offense against the mighty BJP but due to disagreement over the distribution of the seats and the nature of alliance, Congress turned down the obsessive pleadings made by AAP leaders to stitch an alliance and fight the elections jointly.
