After the apex court reject the bail plea of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the RJD supremo has penned an open letter to supporters urging them to save democracy and Constitution.

In the letter written by Lalu Prasad Yadav from inside the jail, he has lamented about it being the first time in his 44-year political career that he is unable to be with his supporters during the elections. Besides, he also censured the BJP government at the centre and held them responsible for his jail sentence. He urged people to fight against the ruling party in order to defeat in the elections.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had rejected the bail plea filed by Lalu Prasad Yadav. Yadav had been in the hospital for eight months now and had sought the bail on medical grounds. The CBI had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court opposing the bail plea of Yadav, who is convicted in the fodder scam.
The CBI, which solicited approval from a bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi to register its response to the bail plea of Lalu Yadav, contended that the RJD leader is expected to get involved in political activities and put to wrong use the grant of bail ahead of upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The agency also alleged that Lalu has been involved in political activities from the hospital ward he is been admitted to for the last eight months.

He has been sentenced with cumulative imprisonment for 27.5 years for his incriminating role in the fodder scam.
