Nisar Ahmed Tantray was flown in from UAE to Delhi in a special flight, and he was promptly arrested by NIA at Delhi airport. He is currently being interrogated by NIA.

Tantray is from Tral, Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, and he was hiding in UAE since February 1 this year. The Jaish terrorist was allegedly involved in the terror attack on CRPF in Lethpora on 30 December 2017. The attack on Lethpora CRPF Group Centre had left five soldiers dead.

NIA had achieved a breakthrough in the investigation into the case in February this year when they arrested Fayaz Ahmad Magray, who had helped three JeM terrorists in taking part in the Lethpora attack of 2017.

Nisar Ahmed Tantray is the younger brother of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) commander-cum-recruiter Noor Mohammad Tantray. The JeM terrorist was called a 4-feet-tall merchant of death by a special court in Delhi. Noor was gunned down by security forces in December 2017.
