The ‘Modi wave’ proliferating in West Bengal seems to have left Mamata Banerjee’s brigade completely delirious. The aggressive plans of BJP are making Mamata Banerjee feel insecure and threatened by the saffron surge. She has unleashed her goons to do whatever it takes to choke off BJP from making inroads in West Bengal.

A shocking video shared on Twitter by ABP news journalist, Vikas Bhadauria, on May 11, laid credence on these rising apprehensions of the TMC. The video which emerged shows TMC goons pulling down BJP’s hoardings on AJC Bose Road Kolkata, West Bengal.

The goons are seen lowering posters with pictures of Prime Minister Modi and wadding it in a truck which apparently looks like that belonging to the Kolkata municipal corporation.

Mamata Banerjee has somehow been extremely perplexed after the results of the last year concluded West Bengal Panchayat elections, which showed BJP making significant inroads in certain areas in Bengal.

According to reports, the BJP had not only managed to thwart the TMC wave in the tribal regions, but it had also registered success in former Maoist bastions of the state like Purulia and Jhargram. In fact, BJP’ surge in other areas like Bankura, Dakshin Dinajpur, Uttar Dinajpur, Birbhum, Paschim Medinipur, Malda, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri districts had marked the beginning of the downfall of the TMC.

The BJP had reportedly won 644 of the 1944 gram panchayat seats in Purulia and 329 of the 806 seats in Jhargram district. In total the BJP had taken its tally in gram panchayat seats from earlier 548 to a commendable 5759 and Panchayat Samiti seats from 33 to 764. The BJP had also won 23 Zilla Parishad seats last year.

The rising popularity of BJP amongst the people of West Bengal, which began last year during the panchayat polls, and kept burgeoning this election season, has left Mamata’s brigade completely baffled. While the TMC chief has left no stone unturned in disparaging the Prime Minister, her goons have been busy discharging their savagery at BJP workers in Bengal. Innumerable incidents were BJP workers have been brutally assaulted and killed and their houses torched have been reported in the recent past.

In fact, with Mamata at the helm of affairs in West Bengal, TMC goons have been empowered to run amok carrying out their depraved activities with impunity. It is widely believed that TMC goons are protected and sheltered by TMC leadership which further emboldens them to execute their nefarious activities.
