Chandrababu Naidu is a tenant of the Krishna Riverside residence, the property of which is owned by Lingamaneni Estates Pvt Ltd. The notice says that Naidu’s residence was built in violation of the river conservation rules. The residence is located within 100m of the Krishna river.

Reportedly, a total of 28 buildings including Naidu’s residence has been served a notice to clear the premises as they are built close to the river.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has termed the recent actions of the Jagan Reddy government as “vendetta politics”. Recently, the “Praja Vedika”, a conference hall built by Naidu next to his current residence has been demolished by the government for flouting environmental norms. The government had also removed Naidu’s  ‘Z’ category security and had been scaled down to ‘Y’ with 2+2 armed gunmen. The security of other Naidu family members has been withdrawn completely.
