Indian pacer and number one ODI bowler Jasprit Bumrah called the World Cup wickets in England as the flattest wicket he bowled on. There are already 16 innings in which a team scored more than 300 runs, whereas there are 16 hundreds scored so far in the tournament. Compared to this, bowlers have only able to take three 5 wickets haul in 26 games played in the competition.
“England has the flattest wickets; I feel England is the most difficult place for a bowler. There is usually no help,” Bumrah told the media
“You feel that the ball will swing in cloudy conditions, but it doesn’t swing or seam, so you rely on your accuracy,” Bumrah continued.
Bumrah also said opening the bowling with Mohammed Shami will hardly make a difference as all three (Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shami and him) have bowled together a lot of times.
“We’re just focusing on our strengths. When I’m bowling with Bhuvneshwar, we’re discussing that I’ve played with Shami before, the three of us have played before too. We’re just focusing on what we have to do; it doesn’t affect us.”
“Obviously it’s unfortunate. He played perfect innings against Australia; he’s an essential member,” Bumrah added.
Dhawan has been ruled out of World Cup due to fractured thumb while Bhuvneshwar has niggle issue and he is out for ten days. The Indian team is facing problems because of injuries and the latest to join the list is Vijay Shankar who suffers an injury after being hit on the toe during the practice session.
