A Pune man got abducted and brutally murdered after an altercation over public urination. The charred remains of 24-year-old Hitesh Govardhan Moolchandani were found in an open ground near Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Tuesday early in the morning.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have booked five men who have allegedly killed Hitesh. The accused have been identified as Amin Feroz Khan, a resident of Gunjpeth, Shahbaz Seraj Qureshi from Kasarwadi, Arabaz Shaikh from Khadki, Akshay Sanjay Bhosale from Sangvi and a man identified only as Langda.

The five accused reportedly came for a drink at the Krunal Bar and Restaurant at 2 am. One of the accused, Amin Khan allegedly urinated outside the bar, to which the hotel staff objected. This led to an altercation between the two groups.

The owner of the place, Rohit Sukheja, was present at the bar during this time. He was there with his friends, including Hitesh Moolchandani. Reportedly, Hitesh tried to calm down the two groups as the fight broke out.

However, the fight turned violent and one of them broke a beer bottle on one Kailas Patil’s head. Hitesh was shoved into a white car and driven away. The police had later discovered his dead body.

As per reports, the hotel staff had managed to nab Amin. He has been handed over to the police. However, the four others are now absconding. The police are now searching for them.

A case under sections 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (insult with an intention of provoking breach of peace) , 201 (destruction of evidence) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the five at Pimpri police station.

Note: After the report was published, Hitesh’s sister got in touch with OpIndia and informed us that he was not burnt as we had earlier reported based on media reports. He was, however, brutally murdered.
