The Upper House disintegrated into a ruckus following Home Miniter Amit Shah’s announcement that Article 370 has been stripped which grants special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir.

As Amit Shah made the announcement, opposition parties began to shout and raise slogans to protest against the historic decision to effectively make redundant Article 370 and make Jammu and Kashmir an Union Territory.

According to ANI, Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu expelled PDP’s Mir Fayaz and Nazir Ahmed Laway from the Rajya Sabha after they attempted to tear a copy of the constitution. They were dragged out of the Parliament by marshals.

PDP’s Rajya Sabha MPs Nazir Ahmad Laway and MM Fayaz continued their protest in Parliament premises after resolution revoking Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir moved by Home Minister. Shockingly, MM Fayaz also tore his kurta to protest against the historic decision.

Earlier in the day, India witnessed history being made. The Modi government, led by Home Minister Amit Shah announced in the Rajya Sabha that Article 370 has been scrapped by Presidential order.
