Social media head of the Congress party made a controversial remark by asking if the prime minister was on ‘POT’. The comment, can be construed in several ways, but the insinuation regarding substance abuse cannot be ruled out. Pot is a common term for cannabis. It is the world’s most popular recreational drug (though it has applications in medicine as well). Cannabis can inhibit one’s sense and judgement when a person is under its influence.
This might hurt the Congress party immensely in the upcoming Karnataka elections as the Prime Minister is a very popular figure in the poll bound state. The prime minister had addressed a rally earlier in the day where he had said that TOP (Tomato, Onion & Potato farmers) were a top priority to his government.
