Days after Bindu and Kanakdurga entered the Sabarimala shrine in the early hours of 2nd January, a 47-year-old Sri Lankan woman Sasikala had darshan at the shrine. Sasikala, a native of Karaitivu was reportedly seen at the Sannidhanam at around 10:45 pm last night. This way, she became the first woman to have darshan after climbing the 18 holy steps.
As per reports, she ‘denied’ the darshan for the sake of her safe return. The CCTV camera also show Sasikala and her husband’s presence at the temple. She had refuted the claims last night, but now that she is in a safe place, the video footage released by government sources reveal she was very much at the shrine.
She had earlier claimed that she had not been allowed to enter the temple despite carrying a medical certificate that her uterus has been removed.
The Kerala Communist government who had earlier attempted several times to allow activists and non-Hindus to enter the Sabarimala shrine, even by escorting them. The Kerala government with their police force has now become successful in deliberately violating the age-old customs protected for thousand years.
