Indian media and social media space have been ablaze by reports of Indian Air Force striking Jaishe-E-Mohammad camps deep inside Pakistan and areas of PoK since early morning. Though an official confirmation from the government of India yet to come, it is being reported that Indian fighter jets have dropped 1000 kg bombs on JeM terror camps in aided and supplied by Pakistan.

While reactions and comments are pouring in on social media, a Tweet from Congress president Rahul Gandhi came as a striking contrast.

A Tweet that had 7 words flanked by two emojis of the Indian tricolour. That is all the usually vocal Congress president had to say for now.

It is definitely in contrast to his long tweets on debunked and dismissed lies on issues such as Rafale and the PM’s schedule which he carries on even when his claims have been busted.

When India conducted surgical strikes after Uri attack, Congress and other parties had initially tried to downplay it. When that did not work they had even gone ahead to call it fake and had asked for proof.

Rahul’s short and constrained response is sure to raise some questions as he and his party has lately been questioning a lot after the Pulwama attacks. Congress spokesperson Surjewala has even gone to the extent of calling the suicide bomber a ‘homegrown so-called terrorist’.

There are some Congress leaders, however, whose response to the Indian airstrikes is slightly better than their party president.

Rahul Gandhi has been dragging his false claims and blatant lies over the Indian Armed Forces and Rafale deal for far too long. As more details of the airstrike emerge and the government of India issues official declaration over the issue, it is expected from the president of India’s largest opposition party that he has a little more to say.
