Congress echoes Pakistan’s words, calls the Pulwama terrorist as ‘home grown so-called terrorist’

Surjewala has shown little regard for the facts as well as for the sensitivities of the Armed Forces which have regularly lost their jawans to Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

Just a week after the dastardly attack by a Kashmiri terrorist belonging to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad claimed 40 lives of our CRPF soldiers, the Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala rubbed salt on their wounds by alleging that the terrorist was a ‘Home-grown so-called terrorist’.

While addressing a presser, Congress spokesperson insulted the sacrifice of the martyred soldiers by referring to the terrorist who killed them as ‘so-called terrorist’. Surjewala also called into question the functioning of the Armed forces when he called the terrorist as ‘Home-grown’, providing an alibi to Pakistan.

Pakistan has long been arguing that the terrorist activities in Kashmir are an indigenous uprising, executed by the rebellious local youth and Surjewala’s utterances appeared to support the Pakistani assertions.

Earlier this week, Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan had posted a pre-recorded and heavily doctored video in which he brazenly denied Pak involvement in the Pulwama terror attack, even as JeM terror group took responsibility of the attack. Khan alluded that the attack was carried out by local Kashmiris as Pakistan doesn’t stand to benefit from it.

There is evidence galore that the terrorist who perpetrated this heinous crime was a JeM operative indoctrinated and motivated with Hinduphobic sentiments to carry out the attack on the CRPF convoy. It is also believed that the terrorist had undergone training in JeM training camps situated in Pakistan. But Surjewala had little regard for the facts as well as for the sensitivities of the Armed Forces which have regularly lost their jawans to Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

The shocking remarks by the Congress party come days after the Indian security forces- CPRF, Army and J&K police convened a joint presser in which they answered a slew of questions concerning the Pulwama terror attack. Zulfiqar Hasan, IG, CRPF while speaking to the media announced that their forces have hunted down the JeM terrorists who conspired the Pulwama attack within 100 hours of the attack. He also spoke on the issue of the security lapse at the highway where the incident took place. He said that the ROP (road opening party) was inspecting the area through which the CRPF convoy was passing.

This is not the first time that Congress has cocked a snook at the Indian Armed Forces. The Sunday Guardian report alleges that Congress had planted fake news of Army coup to undermine the forces. Rahul Gandhi has been at the vanguard to scuttle the Rafale deal, meant to fortify the country’s defence preparedness. Despite the CAG, Supreme Court rubbishing the claims of any wrongdoing in the deal, the Congress President and his party spokespersons are unrelenting in their attacks regarding the deal.
