Congress insults Prime Minister Modi again, says Modi has no ‘vansh’ and hence he is against dynasty politics

Narendra Modi is speaking out against dynastic politics because he does not have children who could take the legacy forward said Congress leader Tariq Anwar.

Anwar said, “Narendra Modi ji shayad isliye bol rahe hai… unka koi vansh raha nahin. Jiska koi vansh hi na ho woh kaise yeh baat keh sakta hai? Yeh to saari duniya mein ho raha hai. Koi aisa mulk nahin hai jahan vansh ko aage nahin badhaya jaata. Aur har profession mein hai. Koi aisa profession bataiye jisme apne vansh ko log nahin badhate ho, aage nahin laate ho. To rajneeti mein bhi aate hai. Unka contribution dekha jaata hai. Modi ji ko aage apna vansh badhana nahin hai isliye woh is tareeke ki baatein karte hai”

Justifying dynastic politics, Anwar said that Prime Minister Modi is taking on the ‘dynastic politics’ because Modi himself has no family to take the ‘legacy’ forward. He further justified that such nepotism is prevalent in all professions and hence nothing wrong in politics either.

Not just Anwar but another senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad too used the same ‘vansh’ jibe against Prime Minister Modi.

Ghulam Nabi Azad could be heard saying, “jinka koi vansh hi nahin ho to woh kya karenge?” (if he does not have any children, what can he do?)

His views were also echoed by Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader and Farooq Abdullah who said, “what does he mean by dynastic politics? I want to ask you. When an actor and his son becomes an actor, is that a dynastic thing? If a director of a film makes his son director, is that a dynastic thing? If a doctor makes his son a doctor, is that a dynastic thing? I am Shaikh Abdullah’s son, grew up in his house, I have learnt politics from childhood.”

Abdullah forget that while there are no mandatory qualifications required to become an actor or director, a doctor can get his son to become a doctor only after he clears all his exams.

Abdullah, a dynast himself, is the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. His father, Shaikh Abdullah was a chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir too. His son, Omar Abdullah, too, has been chief minister of the state.

Congress leaders were reacting to Prime Minister Modi’s dig on Congress’ dynastic politics culture which he shared in a blog earlier today.

Prime Minister Modi has regularly trained his gun on the nepotism and dynastic politics of the Congress party. The current President of Congress, Rahul Gandhi is former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s son, Indira Gandhi’s grandson and Jawaharlal Nehru’s great-grandson. His mother, Sonia Gandhi was also the party president for almost two decades before Rahul Gandhi took over.
