The AAP Congress love story has been running through more twists and turns than most Indian daily soaps since months. After Kejriwal’s ‘Lagbhag Mana Kar Diya’ announcement, there have been numerous statements, photo-ops and counter statements from both parties going full-fledged at a ‘She loves me/she loves me not’ type scenario.
After repeated desperate attempts by Kejriwal and other AAP leaders, finally, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has spoken openly about the secret romance. Rahul has stated on Twitter that Congress is ready for an alliance. However, keeping true to the traditions of daily soap scripts, he has added a veiled allegation that it is Kejriwal who is doing U-Turns.

Rahul has claimed that an alliance between Congress and AAP will rout BJP in Delhi and has stated that Congress was ready to give up 4 out of 7 seats in Delhi. He has also added that the time is running out.
AAP chief Kejriwal has also hit out at Rahul immediately with an even more melodramatic Tweet. Kejriwal has called Rahul’s love ‘fake’.

Kejriwal and recently his deputy Manish Sisodiya have been literally begging Congress for an alliance for weeks now. But senior Congress leader and former CM Sheila Dixit had stated that there will be no alliance with AAP.
On March 18, AAP had declared that Congress had taken too long to respond and there will be no alliance with the party.
Rahul’s tweet makes it clear that now that Congress’ masters have spoken, an alliance might happen after all. looking at the desperate corner both Congress and AAP have been driven into, even though both parties might accuse each other of U-turns, we may still see an alliance before the May 12 elections.
