As per a Times Now report, at least two Delhi University (DU) professors have denied signing a letter shared by Congress leader Sam Pitroda where Pitroda had claimed that over 200 DU professors have condemned Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Bhrashtachari no. 1‘ remark for Rajiv Gandhi.

The two DU professors denied ever having seen or signed such a letter. Times Now reporter calls up professor Vijika, whose name appears at no 19 in the list. Professor Vijika denies on the phone call that she has not written any such letter condemning Prime Minister Modi’s statements against Rajiv Gandhi.

Next, the journalist calls up Professor Manoj from KMC college whose name appears at no. 103 in the list shared by Pitroda. Professor Manoj, too, denied having written any such letter. He adds he has not come across such a letter. In fact, when further probed if he was kept in the loop for such a letter, Prof Manoj says he has no idea.

Meanwhile, one Professor Kumar Prashant who appears no. 10 on the list accepted having signed the letter.

Since the election campaign gained momentum, letters are emerging from various quarters where self-proclaimed intellectuals, film artists, army veterans are reportedly urging the voters not to vote for Prime Minister Modi. However, in such letters too, signatories have later claimed that they were not aware of such letters and had simply denied signing such letters.
