Keshav says that he was attacked specifically after the Muslims who attacked him came to know he was Hindu. He was asked what his religion was and if he stayed in the locality and was attacked after he answered their questions. He says that a Muslim elder, who he doesn’t appear to recognize, intervened in the matter and managed to rescue him.

In our ground report, we had reported that his parents were extremely distressed over his plight. His father had even threatened to commit suicide if he didn’t return safely. The mainstream media tried its best to hush up the entire matter and totally ignored the fact that a boy was missing.

Meanwhile, the situation was still tense in the locality. Hindus are unhappy with the conduct of the Police and believe that even the Police made attempts to cover up the desecration of the Hindu Temple. They also believe that Muslims in the area wish to drive them out of the locality, the lane they currently occupy is the only area in the neighbourhood where Hindus reside.

The incident occurred on the night of 30th of June when a frenzied Muslim mob desecrated a Hindu Temple after a fight ensued allegedly over parking space. The Police are reported to have made only 4 arrests till now. Home Minister Amit Shah is reported to have admonished the Police for its inefficiency.
