The Congress government in Karnataka has been facing criticism for introducing freebie schemes, while the four state transport corporations have been facing a severe financial crunch.

Since its launch in June last year, the Karnataka Congress government has significantly raised various taxes to sustain its five guarantee schemes.

The KSRTC buses have become non-operational from September 23 and that the losses incurred from non-operation of these services will be accounted as loss from the hartal. The buses will resume their services only after repair works.
