Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday said India has become the top supplier of smartphones to the United States, with electronics manufacturing now worth Rs 12 lakh crore
Rahul Gandhi said that the smartphones being manufactured in our country are actually not 'Make in India' but Assemble in India. He claimed that we are just calling the work of assembling parts as Make in India. Rahul Gandhi claimed that the parts come from China and we assemble them.
The Modi government's 'Make in India' and PLI (Production Linked Incentive) schemes have played a big role in Indian manufacturing's success story in the field of smartphones.
“From this stage I would like to give this challenge to our big tech companies like Infosys, TCS and Wipro take up this challenge and develop the operating system for mobile,” Ashwini Vaishnaw said
