Uttar Pradesh: Semi-naked and charred body of a woman found in a sugarcane field in Hapur, police suspect rape before murder

In a horrible incident, a semi-naked, charred body of a woman was found in a sugarcane field in Lahadra village under the Bahadurgarh police station of the Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh, as confirmed by the police on Thursday (8th January). According to reports, the police suspect that the victim, aged about 30 years, was raped before being killed.

The face of the body was severely burnt, making it difficult to ascertain her identity. Serious injuries were found on the deceased’s neck. The body was first spotted by local villagers who raised an alarm and informed the police.

The police are also weighing the possibility that the woman might have been murdered at a different location and that her body was dumped in the sugarcane field. The victim’s clothes were also partially burned, and deep burn injuries were found on several parts of her body.

The body was sent by the police for a post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of her death. An investigation has been initiated in the case.
