Bhilwara Police bust fake gas shortage scare: 10 social media influencers arrested for spreading panic, apology videos released after crackdown

Ten social media influencers have been arrested in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district for spreading rumors about a shortage of gas, petrol, and diesel. Videos have also surfaced showing the accused apologizing with folded hands, stating that there is no shortage of gas. The police have also ensured that all such misleading videos posted by them are deleted.

According to media reports, the accused include Karan Jat, Dheeraj Jat, Arpit Sharma, Arjun Chaudhary, Mahendra Kumar, Kailash Kumar, Mukesh Prajapat, and Deepak Singh. Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh stated that the police had been closely monitoring those spreading rumors about fuel shortages amid the ongoing tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran. During this process, 10 such social media accounts were identified and action was taken against them.

The SP has urged the public not to spread such rumors and to rely only on official statements issued by the administration and the government. The police are continuing to monitor social media platforms for such activities.
