Now, we are bringing the Uniform Civil Code, and they are opposing this as well. UCC means no one can have 4 marriages.
On 5th May, form the BJP government in Assam, and we will implement the UCC here.

The minister said that no one will be allowed to have four marriages, launching a direct attack on Islamists and Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators attempting to alter the state’s religious demography.
“After forming the government, we will implement the Uniform Civil Code in Assam. UGC means that there will be a common law for everyone. After this, no one will be permitted to have four marriages. We have already banned Triple Talaq. Now, after banning four marriages, we will stop demographic change as well,” Minister Shah said.

During a poll rally last week, Amit Shah had announced that while UCC will be implemented in Assam, tribal communities will stay outside its jurisdiction.
“If you form a BJP-led government in Assam, we will bring in uniform civil code, which will ensure that no one marries four time. And I assure that tribals will be kept outside of the purview of UCC, we know whom it should cover,” Shah said while addressing a massive crowd in Goalpara district’s Dudhnoi.
Notably, in its election manifesto or Sankalp Patra for the state of Assam, released on 31st March, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has promised to execute a Uniform Civil Code, laws prohibiting “land jihad” and “love jihad,” action against infiltrators and an expansion of current welfare programs, such as raising the amount deposited under the government’s monthly monetary aide initiative for women from ₹1,250 to ₹3,000.
