‘We will see where you cast your vote’: TMC goon intimidates people ahead of West Bengal election, forces them to vote for Mamata’s regime, video goes viral

As West Bengal goes to the polls in a few days, the goons of the ruling Trinamool Congress have started using intimidating tactics to compel voters to vote for their party. A video has been doing the rounds on social media in which a TMC goon can be seen openly threatening voters to compel them to vote in favour of the TMC in the elections. He is seen telling the voters that they must vote for the TMC and that he would find out which party they voted for.

“Go and cast your vote in the morning. Your name is there in the list. Remember to vote for the Trinamool Congress. We will see where you cast your vote. We will see which button you hit on the EVM. We will know about it after the results are announced,” the TMC workers can be heard telling the voters.

The video was originally shared by journalist Shafiqul Islam of Arambagh TV. Later on, it came to be shared by several social media handles.

Earlier this month, a similar video went viral on social media, showing a TMC goon giving similar threats to voters in the Baharampur Assembly constituency in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. He went door-to-door and asked people not to vote for the BJP. He tried to scare the people by lying to them that the voting would be recorded on cameras, and that he would find out if they did not vote for the TMC.

Elections in West Bengal under the current TMC establishment have been a challenge for the Election Commission and other authorities. The TMC has had a track record of indulging in political violence around the elections to intimidate opponents and voters.
