On 2nd September (Wednesday), the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust appointed Air Marshal (retired) Jitendra Mishra as the first full-time chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He served as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force for almost 39 years. He assumed leadership of one of the IAF’s most significant operational commands, the Western Air leadership, in January of last year. He also oversaw the command of “Operation Sindoor.”
Under the direction of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the trust met at Maniram Das Chhawani in Ayodhya and reached a unanimous decision. The meeting was attended by invited members of the trust as well as senior office bearers. Three new members have also been appointed, according to the trust. They are Nirmala Yadav from Ayodhya, Mahesh Bhagchandka from Delhi and prominent Ayodhya lawyer Madan Mohan Pandey.
Mishra, who was born in Bhopatpura village in the Deoria district’s Bhatpar Rani area, advanced through the ranks to hold key leadership roles in the Air Force. His employment adds a wealth of experience in overseeing complicated processes, managing large companies and coordinating several agencies to the management of the Ram temple.
Dr Suresh Haware, a nuclear scientist, Lt Gen (retd) Vishnukant Chaturvedi, and retired Justice Pramod Kohli made up the three-person selection committee. 5,585 applications were submitted to the selection panel between 11th and 18th July.
With the planned revision to its deed, the Trust had been expected to specify the CEO’s authority. A full-time CEO is essential to providing professional administration and transparency to the temple’s operations, according to Nripendra Mishra, head of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee.
The Trust has informed that the CEO will report to its general secretary and operate independently of the government. The official is also expected to create the organisation’s long-term plans. In addition to developing systems, methods and operational practices appropriate for the organisation’s scale and character, the CEO will be in charge of statutory, administrative and financial affairs.
In addition, the position is expected to supervise the reinforcement of the Trust’s organisational structure and guarantee adherence to legal, regulatory and Trust deed requirements. As the top executive authority, the CEO will be in charge of the organisation’s effective administration and future growth.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was established to supervise the building and administration of the Ram temple and its related infrastructure. Senior Supreme Court lawyer K. Parasaran, chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, and treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj are important members of the trust. As interim general secretary, Krishna Mohan is in charge.
