Chhattisgarh: Police arrest Christian pastor for rape and abduction of minor Hindu girl, accused used to forcibly convert locals to Christianity

A disturbing case of kidnapping, forced conversion and sexual abuse of a minor Hindu girl by a Christian pastor has come to light in the Pratappur police station area of the Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh. Police have arrested Christian pastor Rajkumar, his father Khairu, Ramkhelawan, and his wife Suneeta in connection with the case.

According to the police, pastor Rajkumar used to visit the houses of locals and coerce them to convert to Christianity. He converted the entire family of the victim using his influence. On Christmas (25th December), the minor was kidnapped and raped. The accused were found to be involved in the kidnapping and sexual assault of the victim.

A complaint was registered relating to the disappearance of the victim. An investigation was initiated by the police at the direction of Surajpur Superintendent of Police Prashant Thakur. A police team led by Station House Officer Amit Kaushik began searching for the victim and rescued her from Dhandhapur village in the Rajpur police station area. She was sent to the Sakhi Centre in Ambikapur for her safety.

As per reports, pastor Rajkumar also has a case previously filed against him at the Rajpur police station for the abduction of a minor. Besides, he has criminal records at several police stations. The police said that the accused are connected to a larger network and more arrests may follow soon.
