Raihan Vadra, son of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and businessman Robert Vadra, is set to formalise his long-standing relationship with Aviva Baig, with the couple reportedly getting engaged at a private family gathering on Sunday. According to a report published on NDTV, the ceremony was intimate, attended only by close relatives from both sides, marking a significant personal milestone for the Gandhi–Vadra family.
According to those familiar with the developments, the engagement has the full consent of both families, and preparations are underway for a more elaborate celebration in Ranthambore, Rajasthan. The wedding itself is expected to take place in the coming months, though neither family has issued an official public statement so far.
Who is Aviva Baig?
Aviva Baig is a Delhi-based creative professional and comes from a family with a close personal association with the Vadras. She is the daughter of businessman Imran Baig and interior designer Nandita Baig, who is known to have worked on interior design projects for the Congress party, including the Indira Bhawan headquarters. Raihan and Aviva reportedly studied at the same school, a connection that evolved into a relationship spanning nearly seven years.
She completed her schooling at Modern School, Delhi, before pursuing Media Communication and Journalism at OP Jindal Global University. While trained as an interior designer like her mother, Aviva’s professional interests extend well beyond design.
An accomplished photographer and producer, Aviva has showcased her work at several prominent exhibitions, including You Cannot Miss This at the India Art Fair in 2023 and The Illusory World in 2019. Her photography often engages with social themes, reflecting an interest in storytelling and social impact through visual art. Adding to her diverse profile, she is also a former national-level football player.
Who is Raihan Vadra?
Raihan Vadra was educated at The Doon School in Dehradun, continuing a family tradition earlier followed by his grandfather, Rajiv Gandhi and uncle Rahul Gandhi. He later studied politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
A visual artist from a young age, Raihan has developed a distinctive photographic style spanning wildlife, street, and commercial photography. In 2021, he held his first solo exhibition, Dark Perception, at Bikaner House in New Delhi. The exhibition was deeply personal, shaped in part by an eye injury he suffered during a school cricket match in 2017.
Speaking earlier to NDTV, Raihan reflected on how the injury altered his artistic perspective. “I started doing a lot of black-and-white shoots after my eye accident; it changed the way I perceive things. I use darkness to seek light,” he said. He has often credited his mother for encouraging his interest in photography, while also drawing inspiration from Rajiv Gandhi’s photographic work.
Relationship forged through shared creative pursuits
Those close to the couple describe their relationship as rooted in a shared passion for art, photography, and creative expression. Aviva recently shared a photograph with Raihan on her Instagram account, later adding it to her highlights, fueling speculation about the engagement that was soon confirmed by sources.

While details of the upcoming ceremonies remain closely guarded, the engagement is expected to be a private two- to three-day affair in Rajasthan, likely in early January 2026. As wedding bells begin to ring, public curiosity has naturally turned toward the creative lives of Raihan Vadra and Aviva Baig. The couple has largely stayed away from the political spotlight despite their high-profile lineage.
