On Friday (9th January), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lodged 2 complaints with the police against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the raid at the office of India Political Action Committee (I-PAC) and the home of its co-founder Pratik Jain.
According to reports, the complaints were filed at the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station and the Electronic Complex Police Station.
Interestingly, no official from the Enforcement Directorate has been named in the complaint, and FIRs have been registered against unidentified individuals.
As per reports, the Kolkata police have taken suo motu cognisance of the complaint filed at the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station.
While reacting to the development, BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar stated that Mamata Banerjee filed the 2 complaints to ‘save’ the accused. “I request the Chief Minister to at least maintain the dignity of her chair,” he added.
In the meantime, three petitions are listed before the Calcutta High Court in connection with the raid. One petition is filed by the ED, the other by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the third by Pratik Jain himself.
