The SpaceX Crew Dragon is a reusable spacecraft designed to carry astronauts and cargo to and from low Earth orbit. It has been developed by Elon Musk-owned SpaceX and has been in operation since 2020. It is the first privately developed spacecraft to transport NASA astronauts to the ISS.
Similarly, NASA’s Molly L Wasser said, “It is possible that Asteroid 2024 YR4 will be ruled out as an impact hazard, as has happened with many other objects that have previously appeared on NASA’s asteroid risk list.”
NASA announced that SpaceX has been selected to develop and deliver the U.S. Deorbit Vehicle that will provide the capability to deorbit the International Space Station and ensure avoidance of risk to populated areas.
