India's land system is now largely digital: 19 states allow downloading legally valid RoR records online. Banks in 406 districts verify mortgages instantly. 97% rural records digitised, ULPIN issued for 36 crore plots, plus urban NAKSHA mapping for transparent deals.
According to SBI Research, rural poverty has decreased from 25.7% (2011-12) to 7.2% (2022-2023) while urban poverty has reduced from 13.7% (2011-12) to 4.6% (2022-2023).
Nirmala Sitharaman added that 1.5 crore rural homes have been completed under PMAY phase I till now and 1.95 crores more houses to be provided to eligible beneficiaries in phase 2 now by 2022.
