NDTV is in the news again after a serious indictment from the market regulator-SEBI for financial irregularities. On previous occasions as well, NDTV has been in the dock for cases of similar nature including serious tax evasion cases.

The company said that the SEBI order imposing the penalty, which is yet to be received by them, is likely to be set aside in appeal.

In yet another setback for controversial media group NDTV, SEBI has imposed a penalty of Rs. 12 lakh on New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) for failing to make timely disclosures to the stock exchanges.

In a major jolt to NDTV promoters, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, Securities and Exchange Board of India has barred them from accessing Securities Markets and holding any management position in NDTV for the next 2 years

Earlier too, NDTV has had a similar brush with the law when they got a show cause notice from the Income Tax Department

SEBI observes that the loan to Prannoy and Radhika Roy violated norms.
