Delhi: Muslim man arrested for stabbing a 46-year-old Harish Kandwal over a financial dispute

A 46-year-old man was stabbed to death by an NGO owner, Ashmi Ali, following a financial dispute in the Hari Nagar area of West Delhi. According to the police, the matter came to light in the early hours of Sunday, 15th February, when they received a call from Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital, saying that a man with a stab wound in the neck had been admitted to the hospital and declared dead. 

After receiving the information, a police team immediately reached the hospital and began their investigation. Delhi Police said on Sunday, 15th February, that the accused was arrested within hours of the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the two men had a business and financial dispute. On the day of the incident, they reportedly spent several hours together. Later, they had an argument near the CD Block in Hari Nagar, which turned violent, resulting in the stabbing.

The deceased has been identified as Harish Kandwal, a resident of Uttam Nagar in West Delhi. Police registered a case and started a detailed probe into the matter.

During the investigation, the accused was identified as Ashmi Ali (46), who lives in Farash Bazar in Northeast Delhi. He was arrested shortly after the incident. Police officials said that Ali runs an NGO called Sai Sadhna Social Welfare Foundation from his residence, and Kandwal was also associated with the same organisation.
