On 8th April (Wednesday), a well-known social media figure, Ankur Singh, informed that he had received a notification from X (formerly Twitter) regarding a post he made about the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, emphasising that the government of Pakistan asked for the tweet to be removed. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority submitted the request in the name of “violation of the country’s laws.”
The communication from the social media giant read, “In the interest of transparency, we are writing to inform you that X has received a request from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority regarding your X account, @AnkurSingh, that claims the following content violates the law(s) of Pakistan. We have not taken any action on the reported content at this time as a result of this request.”
“As X strongly believes in defending and respecting the voice of our users, it is our policy to notify our users if we receive a legal request from an authorised entity (such as law enforcement or a government agency) to remove content from their account. We provide notice whether or not the user lives in the country where the request originated,” it added

On 17th March, Singh shared a video featuring Reddy, who stated that Muslims read the Quran and pray five times daily during the month of Ramzan as mandated by the Islamic scripture revealed by Prophet Muhammad. The latter asserted that the community prays for peace in India and globally, ensuring the safety of the world. However, Singh retorted, “Same night Pakistan bombed Kabul and killed 400 innocents in a Drug rehabilitation hospital.”
However, it seems that the Islamic Republic has been offended by a factual statement countering Reddy and sought its removal from X.
