Pune Porsche crash: Victim’s father questions justice system after viral video shows accused’s father Vishal Agarwal celebrating bail with family

Fresh outrage has erupted across the country over the infamous Pune Porsche crash case after a controversial video surfaced on social media showing builder Vishal Agarwal celebrating his release on bail with family members and close associates. The video has reignited public anger over the 2024 accident that killed two young software engineers.

In the viral clip, Vishal Agarwal and his wife Shivani Agarwal can be seen dancing enthusiastically at what appeared to be a grand private celebration. The two were seen moving to the popular Bollywood song “Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost, Dosto Salaam Karo” while wearing huge garlands made of currency notes around their necks. The visuals quickly spread online, with many social media users accusing the family of openly mocking the victims and showing arrogance despite the seriousness of the case.

The video surfaced only weeks after Vishal Agarwal was released on bail after spending nearly 22 months in custody in connection with the cover-up of the deadly crash caused by his minor son.

The victim’s father questions the justice system

The video deeply hurt the families of the victims. Suresh Koshta, the father of Ashwini Koshta, one of the deceased, said the celebration showed that the accused had no fear of the law.

“It must be a practice in their society to kill two people and then celebrate… They are mocking the common citizens,” he told ANI.

He also criticised the justice system and questioned the legal protections available to juveniles accused of serious crimes. “Law is mocking the common man because it is the law which grants them provisions to avoid punishment. If one is a juvenile, they can do anything,” he said.

Koshta further appealed to the Supreme Court to take a stricter stand in such cases. “The Supreme Court should pass a judgment which would instil fear of law among the people. There is no fear of the law anymore. If one is awarded punishment by the High Court, they are let go by the Supreme Court. This encourages crime,” he said.

Demanding cancellation of bail, he added, “His bail should be revoked, and his parents should be jailed.”

The Supreme Court granted bail earlier this year

The controversy comes months after the Supreme Court granted bail in February to three accused linked to the evidence tampering case connected to the Pune Porsche crash. The court had imposed conditions and directed the accused not to misuse their liberty.

Later, on 10th March, 2026, Vishal Agarwal himself was granted bail after remaining in custody for nearly two years. The court reportedly considered the long pre-trial detention period and the fact that some co-accused had already received relief.

Background of the case

The case dates back to the early hours of 19th May, 2024, when a 17-year-old boy, drunk after partying at upscale pubs in Pune, crashed a luxury Porsche Taycan into a motorcycle in the Kalyani Nagar area at extremely high speed.

The collision killed two 24-year-old software engineers, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, on the spot. The victims were from Madhya Pradesh. Investigators later claimed the teenager had been driving at speeds between 150 and 200 kmph despite being underage and not having a driving licence.

Public anger exploded further when the Juvenile Justice Board granted the teenager bail within hours of the accident and asked him to write a 300-word essay on road safety.

Meanwhile, 10 defendants, including his parents Vishal Agarwal and Shivani Agarwal, doctors Ajay Tawre and Shreehari Halnor, Sassoon Hospital’s staffer Atul Ghatkamble, Aditya Avinash Sood, Ashish Satish Mittal and Arun Kumar Singh, alongside two middlemen, were thrown behind bars in the blood sample switching case.
