“Opposition cries only when mafias are eliminated”: CM Yogi slams SP-Congress in Unnao, unveils Rs 570 crore development package

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a major development push for Unnao, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 101 projects worth over ₹570 crore. During the event, he also declared that Unnao would be included in the State Capital Region (SCR), a move expected to accelerate the district’s growth on the lines of Lucknow.

The state government has drawn up an ambitious roadmap for Unnao’s economic expansion. Around 275 hectares of land have already been earmarked for the UP Defence Industrial Corridor, while another 200 acres have been identified along the Ganga Expressway for the development of an industrial cluster.

These initiatives are expected to attract significant industrial investment and create large-scale employment opportunities for local youth. As a result, many young people from the district may no longer need to migrate elsewhere in search of jobs.

Improved connectivity and Infrastructure

Residents of Unnao are also set to benefit from enhanced transport connectivity. Citizens will now be able to travel directly towards Delhi and Prayagraj without having to pass through Lucknow. Additionally, a long-pending demand for an extra bridge over the Ganga River between Kanpur and Unnao has been approved.

The new bridge is expected to reduce travel time and ease traffic movement between the two cities. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also attended the ‘Natural Farming Workshop 2026’ in Kanpur, where he honoured progressive farmers and encouraged them to adopt modern agricultural practices.

CM Yogi targets opposition, praises law and order

Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party and Congress, accusing them of promoting mafia rule and dynastic politics. He alleged that opposition leaders shed tears only when mafias are eliminated.

Yogi Adityanath said that under previous governments, traders and the poor did not feel secure, whereas today both Uttar Pradesh and the country are safer under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He asserted that India’s internal security has become stronger than ever and cannot be compromised. The government, he added, is committed to protecting faith and cultural heritage while simultaneously driving economic growth and development.
