Ram Mandir donation theft: Accused Lavkush Mishra’s under-construction house worth ₹1.5 crore faces bulldozer action over unexplained wealth, notice issued

The investigation into the Ram Temple donation theft case has now reached the property owned by the family of the accused, Lavkush Mishra. The administration has issued a notice regarding a house being built in the name of his wife, Supriya Mishra. The family has been asked to submit its reply within seven days. Officials have said that if no response is received within the given period, the under-construction building could face bulldozer demolition.

The property is located in Ayodhya’s Shahadat Ganj area, near Jai Puria School. According to local residents, Lavkush bought the 1,000-square-foot plot in October 2025 and got it registered in his wife’s name. Neighbour Rajkumar Pandey said the land is worth around ₹25 lakh and confirmed that the registration was done in Supriya Mishra’s name.

Three floors planned with modern features

A three-storey house is being built on the land and is likely to be ready within three to four months. Locals said the first floor included a spacious kitchen, four rooms and a separate space kept for installing a lift. The second floor has five rooms, including one room built inside another. Work on the third floor had also begun, with iron rods already put up for further construction.

People living nearby said construction work stopped soon after Lavkush Mishra was arrested. They also said that none of his family members has visited the property since then, and the site has remained deserted.

Neighbours estimate that around ₹30 lakh was being spent on the construction and finishing of each floor. This puts the total construction cost at nearly ₹80-90 lakh. Along with the value of the land, the total investment in the property is estimated to be around ₹1.5 crore.

The civic body has asked the property owner to submit all relevant approval documents if the building map has been sanctioned. During an inspection, ADA officials allegedly found that the construction was not being carried out in accordance with prescribed building regulations.

The property has come under scrutiny because Lavkush Mishra was reportedly earning a monthly salary of around ₹20,000. Investigators had earlier recovered ₹14.25 lakh in cash from his residence during the probe into the Ram Temple donation theft case. The recovered money and the investment in the house are now part of the ongoing investigation.

Lavkush Mishra is related to Anil Mishra, who resigned as a member of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust after the FIR in the case was registered against 8 accused. Lavkush Mishra’s father-in-law Ramashankar Mishra, and Ramashankar’s son Anukalp Mishra are also accused in the case and have been arrested.
