Delhi Police busts two Pakistan-backed terror modules, six Jihadis arrested for smuggling illegal weapons and planning attacks

In a major anti-terror operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell busted two suspected Islamic terror modules linked to Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti on 6th July 2026. The police have arrested six jihadis, who were planning a terror attack in Delhi. They were also smuggling illegal weapons across India.

The investigators have seized petrol bombs and sophisticated, cross-border weapons. Among those arrested from Module 1 are Salman and Danish alias Chand Miyan (linked to Hunain Rana, an associate of gangster Shahzad Bhatti), while the second module included Tayyab, Ali Fazal, Zubair, and Malkit.

The duo from the first module was arrested from Vijay Ghat area along with three petrol bombs and Rs 2000. Salman and Danish are residents of Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar.

The second module was involved in cross-border weapons trafficking and were operating under their ISI handler Hassan Gujjar. Gujjar is an associate of Shahzad Bhatti. The suspected jihadis were smuggling weapons from Pakistan through drones.

Speaking about the arrests, Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwah said, “The first module was being handled by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI handler Rana Hunain, an associate of Bhatti. This module was tasked to carry out an attack on any vital installation or police establishment in Delhi using petrol bombs.”
