In a major crackdown against illegal immigration, authorities have been identifying illegal immigrants across the country and deporting them. Recently, a group of Bangladeshi nationals, who entered India illegally, were taken from Tamil Nadu to West Bengal for deportation.
The 33 Bangladeshi nationals were detained by authorities in connection with various cases, including residing in India without valid documents. They were lodged in a special refugee camp at Attur in Salem district in Tamil Nadu. They were escorted in the Tiruchirappalli-Howrah SF Express train from Tiruchirappalli Railway Station to West Bengal. A separate coach was reserved on the train for them.

The Bangladeshi nationals comprised 25 men, four women, and four children. On reaching West Bengal, they will be deported to Bangladesh.
