Air India flight AI315, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, flying from Hong Kong to Delhi, returned mid-air due to a suspected technical snag. The aircraft landed safely back in Hong Kong.
Notably, this comes just days after an Air India Dreamliner crashed in Ahmedabad shortly after take off killing 270 people, including 241 people on board and 29 people on the ground. One passenger on the flight survived.
The aircraft returned to Hong Kong after around 90 minutes of takeoff. All the passengers were reportedly safely taken off board. The flight departed from Hong Kong at 12:16 pm local time and was scheduled to arrive in Delhi at 12:20 pm IST.
The details of the technical issue that caused the plan to return to Hong Kong are not yet known.
